Went our to lunch with my brother and sis-in-law yesterday, and wandered a local antique/estate sale. We came home with these fabulous and well-made decorator pillows, (selling each one separately) each incorporating charming Victorian era needlepoint, needlework, embroidery panels. The one being sold here is large at 20" x 16" plus lush 1" fringe. The fun part of this one is that the designer has incorporated a beautiful long-stitch Victorian wool embroidery c.1840-60s into the upper panel. A very nice choice of thick cut velvet to surround the old needlework panel and repeat the color, plus a frame of lush wool trim expands it's already large form. I've added photos to show how wonderfully it works with other pillows, the other 2 I'll be listing today. All pillows are sold separately.
Very good to excellent condition both for the age of the old c.1840-60 needlework, long-stitch embroidered bouquet, and for the newer plush fabric and trims. The pillow is clean, no odors, no stains, just lovely. It has a thick fill, but it is not down-filled. The pillow is made without zipper, but one could unpick a section and trade out it's fill-pillow with a down pillow quite easily. Shown from all angles. Measurements in full noted on the photos. The oval needlework cartouche is antique, beautifully preserve - not tattered by age. my guess would be this was made into a pillow 40-50 years ago. Again, no odors or stains. No holes. Very nice and ready to use!
