A beautiful small oil painting on wood panel, beveled in back, 19th century interior dressing room and nude either putting on or taking off her diaphanous pink gown. The artist's signature is there, lower right, and I can't make it out but seems to say Monet . . Rousson. Undated, it would be mid to late 1800s when such beveled wood plaques were used by artists. The old original frame is hand made and in good condition as shown. Full measurements noted on photos. Great painting for a doll house, as well.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. I love this particular miniature oil painting. Nicely composed and beautifully crafted with a decided Impressionist flair to the brush strokes. Still held in frame by 4 bent nails, a large eye screw to hang it. An intimate painting in intimate size.
