Antique to vintage French Art Deco style silver plated 2" napkin ring with "Claudine" inscription or dedication! Yes, silver plate and not sterling but that means you get all of the visual appeal at a fraction of the price of a French sterling silver piece. The silversmith mark is for Louis Coignet of Paris who apparently worked in both sterling and silver-plate judging from this one. Paris circa 1889-1893 is what my reference guide says though that doesn't quite jive with the Art Deco style. One of several superb antique French napkin rings that we’re adding today, among a host of other fabulous treasures so, be sure to browse some while you’re with us. Thanks!
We’ve amassed well over 100 great old mostly French sterling napkin rings over the years and I’m working on them now. They're great mixed & matched around your table, wonderful to find a set of twelve or more matching pieces but who could be so lucky. And, isn't it much neater if all are unique, each with a history...a story of its own! We have rococo style napkin rings, guilloche style machined or engraved napkin rings, French Empire style napkin rings, personalized napkin rings with the original owners’ names on them… Just a massive array of styles and aesthetically unbeatable! Browse and enjoy, they’re all so lovely and sure to add to your fine dining experience (and that of your guests, too)!
Excellent condition really. Silver plate but this one weighs 40 grams, built to last, great condition as you can see from the images. Faint surface scuffing possible but no loss to the silver plating, no dents, damage or repairs to note. See pictures for measurements.
