A traditional bedside set, this is known as a Bonne nuit (good night) set in France, and often referred to as a tumble up. The 3 piece set is superb and undamaged, and includes the plate or platter, the decanter and the tumbler or cup, glass, which in France is called a timbale. No fine guest room or bedroom would be without this night service, water or wine. They're fun at table, and enliven any decor or display case. Hand painted enamel with raised jewel dots throughout. Gold rims, polished pontils, and such high appeal. Measurements of each piece noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout all 3 pieces. I can find a jewel dot missing here or there but their color remains so not noticeable. Note how the enamel work on the cup flows accurately into that of the decanter when placed in its top position. Rare to find a complete set in such fine condition. Art glass, indeed. Dates to Napoleon III era through perhaps Belle Epoche (c.1860-1900).
