I find no signature on this beautiful old portrait miniature, though the work is obviously that of a Master. Likely a painting done for a husband, it's been well treasured atop the beautiful burl and shell snuff box and shows elegantly. Dates early 1800s, perhaps as late as c. 1830, or Charles X era. Simplicity of black gown and gold long chain, hair and her placid agreeable face shows domestic tranquility. Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, over 200 years of age now, and only a tiny bit of bug bite to the shell band against the burl wood. No flaws to the painting, portrait, and the original undamaged convex cover glass remains to protect her portrait. No splits, cracks, hairlines. Photos show it from all angles for your inspection.
