Remainders of a larger set, this grouping of 5 superb black/white transferware plates carry both an impressed mark and an underglaze mark (see our images) which notes the maker, Creil et Montereau, was a gold medal recipient in the judging of 1834-39 and 1844-49. We're unsure of what else to tell you about these, apart from noting their superior quality in craftsmanship, quality of image in transfer, and their fine high appeal. Great as works of art for your walls, or line them up as a valance above your drapery in your French Country Kitchen - a great look, displayed on a corbel-mounted plate rack. You know the look I'm talking about, don't you.
Condition of all is very good to excellent. No chips noted. Group of 5 in all, all different scenes.
