Rare tiny thing, meant to travel though it appears to have been far too treasured or perhaps just very well packed. The case is superb black leather, possibly ostrich, I'm unsure. It is not shagreen as I'd initially expected. Of fine quality, the rivets and button opener are each 18k gold. Interior's silk velvet has lost some nap over time, shows more age than does the etui, itself so owing to the natural deterioration of silk. Inside, 2 tiny scent flacon, flasks, bottles, each still fitted with the original stoppers. One is slightly shorter than the other but that was a means of easy identification of the scent within, and is not a flaw.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, as noted above. A flaw: One has obviously been dropped at some point in the 250 years or so of existence as the brass cap has a dent which I've noted on photos for examination, an 'x' to show you. Not a single flaw to the glass, not a chip, nip, and no cracks in the slender necks. I left them as they were, not washing out what might remain as a faint scent of the past. One might wish to clean out the little residue. I'll leave that to the next owner's desire.
