Fabulous & rare antique Victorian era c. 1850-90s tooled leather travel vanity case, an elegant box with opulent fitted interior and a host of implements included oval beveled mirror, silver plated vanity cars, sewing implements and more! Something about these old travel sets that I find alluring, likely the idea of the Grand Tour traveler bouncing across Europe via train and these smaller cases generally at hand and containing the daily necessities. This in a rich brown or natural leather with tooled patterning, center handle with bronze fittings and a tooled "LF" monogram flanking the center handle with bronze fittings. The interior with tooled blue leather fitting in the lid to hold the mirror and two matching doors below with all of the contents nestled beneath. Simply a lovely and clean old Victorian or Napoleon III era "trousse de voyage", travel vanity case! Perfect even for use in your Grand Tour travel.
Very good to excellent condition. Very clean! All of the jars & tools have been cleaned and polished, all perfect for use if you wish. A few missing tools, empty fittings visible but those that remain all appear original or close to it. The box itself is as near pristine as can be. Original lock & hardware, even a working key but the inner lock pin within the lock is slightly bent and doesn't engage the lid pin. I'll see if I can get it back to working condition. See pictures for all measurements.
