A stunningly beautiful pair to hang on wall or mount in shadow-box frames, set in display in your cabinet, or use at table. These 2 19th century game hen plates are marked AK over CD in center of round red underglaze mark for Limoges, France maker, which is a coiffed mark used in Limoges between 1891-1914, and the AK over CD would denote the decorator, but we don't have more info on that. A very pretty combination palette that is rimmed with pale green against the hand applied gold enamel. A woodland subject and palette that will accent any cabin decor or your beautiful dining room in soothing color.
Very good to excellent for age and type, I have just the 2. Neither plate has any chips or cracks, no hairlines. You'l note a few rubs or even a nick or two on the raised thick gold enamel work. Very pretty! The plates are each 9.5" diameters and we've shown the marks clearly if you want to try to research them more. The plates have a rise of 1" overall.
