Very good to excellent for a case of its type and age. We'd date this one late 1800s to perhaps as late as 1910, no later. The cover panels are pristine, no warping. The interior leather is supple, undamaged and without stains or really much evidence of use at all. The original pencil remains, as well, but you can change it out with one of our opulent silver or gold & jeweled retracting & thin pencils for a more dramatic effect - just ask what we have in stock.

We also recognize the vast cultural history we preserve with our care and reverence for these antique objects, and agree with CITES that objects over 100 years of age have nothing whatsoever to do with species depletion in our current world.
