W Adams & Sons "Columbia" series large soup plate in blue underglaze transferware, a superb large 10 1/2" diameter and 2" deep serving or soup bowl plate for decor or table. English Staffordshire, 19th century, Victorian era in a beautiful mid-range blue which will work with both the lighter and darker blue transferware. Blue and white in in a full resurgence, we're seeing it everywhere now in the decorator magazines, and online to rave reviews, bot in table settings and in home decor. I recently bought out a very high quality estate of stunning Victorian transferware and flow blue, and will be adding them to our site in weeks ahead. In this offering, you will be buying the 1 large platter featured. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent for age and type, this old beauty does have one super-fine hairline visible on backside glaze from the rim, shown in detail in our photos. It has not been touched up, and appears to be one that will easily semi-disappear with a tiny bit of touch-up. Still, we point out any and all flaws for your consideration.
