Found in France, this handsome gentleman's portrait is unsigned by a very interesting painting. Note the realism in his eyes, but the loose, almost sketched brush strokes that comprise his face, his cravat. The curly hair, as well. He wears the high blue colored jacked with tall-collar shirt and tied cravat that was in vogue in the 1830s, Paris. Charles X era, his sideburns are of that era, as well. He remains well preserved under cover glass in original frame, and the foil that sometimes backs the face of a miniature, still pushes light back through the wafer to light his face. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, a few rubs or losses to the dark paint of his jacket, slight imperfection above him to his left, but seen in actual size, those are not the least bothersome in a portrait this beautiful. Frame shows a bit of age, but not much. Ready to hang and display.
