Souvenirs for the Victorian era Grand Tour traveler (1850s), this is a rare complete set including the tooled leather casket and two beautiful little blown glass & gilt ormolu perfume bottles. Each of the bottles has a souvenir scene mounted in the hinged cap, both fabulous little water color paintings on card! I can usually make out the architectural scenes shown but am drawing a blank on these :), must still be suffering a bit of jet lag....or it's just late on our Thursday listing marathon.
Remarkable condition all. I made it all the way home and through the photographing process before I noticed the little leather patch on the upper left side of the box (that should tell you how well it was done). Yes, you can see it but it's professionally done and does not detract from the overall beauty and value of the piece. Both bottles have the inner stoppers intact, no chips, cracks or other damage to note (though there is a bit of dust under the glass on one painting). See pictures for measurements.
