Elegant antique French 1819-1838 Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era sterling silver & vermeil 6pc 8 1/8" cheese, dessert or entremet sized knife set, all with remnants of vermeil or 18k gold plating with solid shimmering mother of pearl handles and floral accents! A gorgeous set, I'd love to see them in their original condition, virtually dripping gold. The set now mostly in silver, with the gold worn or polished away over the years but still evident in the recesses of the caps and collars. The blades all bear the Michel Ange or Michelangelo hallmarks, dating them as being made between the above years. All in wonderful condition and, if you ask me, more versatile now in silver.
Very good condition. No chips or cracks in the mother of pearl handles, some slight "pushes" to the bead ends of the handles on two or three. A few tiny nicks to the blades but all have been recently wheel polished and have a lustrous shine. See pictures for weight and measurements.
