Found in France, sadly these did not make it here unscathed. The thinnest and most delicate porcelain, one stuffed a loss to the rim, as shown. I'll price as if it's just the one, and the damaged one just goes along with it. They do display beautifully, as you can see, but somewhere along the way in our warehouse, the piece has been lost. In its place you can really see how delicate and thin the porcelain is - quite remarkable. There is no signature of maker other than a rim slash. The decoration is superbly done hand painting swags and baskets, ornamental lines and raised gold enamel, and it's all pristine. When purchased, they were announced as Napoleon III, and I see nothing at all to dissuade me of that date: c.1850-70. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for the one, and the other has a chip on the rim, making it imperfect. As noted above, we no longer have that small triangular piece so any repair will need to be done professionally by a porcelain ceramist of skill. Other than that flaw, the pair of vases are just gorgeous. Very painstakingly hand painted, and accented in raised gold enamel. Works of French art, really. Will you treasure them, please?
