Hand carved Swiss Black Forest goods were so popular with Victorian to Edwardian era travelers, we're left with a wealth of darling desk items, jewelry boxes, cabinets and fabulous large wall plaques and clocks. This cute little bear leaning over a hollowed log is a pen tray and inkwell, desk stand. He's well carved and in fine condition and he's still got his little black glass eyes and his original glass insert ink-or. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, no chips and no cracks or losses. Even the original pressed glass inkwell remains. Tight hinge and smooth-fitting head. Not even his ears are chipped which is kind of rare to find, really. Cute as can be! Found in France.
