This is likely an Asian carved Victorian era frame, the 2 outer apertures for c.1860s carte de visits photographs, and the center oval is 5" x 3.5". Each aperture has cover glass and at some point pressed flowers have been framed within. One could easily replace those with favorite photos or even mirrors, depending upon where it's to be incorporated into your home or collection. Figural, but also has 2 scabbards with knife handle rising above. Very nicely crafted. Found in France. Full measurements are noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, it is 170 years old and displays beautifully. Large and impressively carved, it has just one flaw to note, and we've taken care to include a marked photo of that spot, upper left corner (see images). Beautiful wood and fine finish.
