Children's portraits are rare to begin with, and group portraits are all the more. This is a wonderful earliest 1800s painting of a young sister looking admiringly up to her older brother. Each of them blond and blue-eyed. They're perfectly preserved under original convex cover glass and held within the original silver frame which is embossed for decoration and has a bow top. Measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, over 200 years old. Very nicely preserved, I did not open the frame's back, the cover glass was already clean. I do not see a signature. Sometimes once I open them I can see a signature at outer border, hidden by the frame. I'll leave it to the next owner to decide if they'll try. The back is a metal backing. There is a hanging bale up top. Charming!
