Delightful antique French Napoleon III era Grand Tour style liqueur stand or caddy, a charming white metal camel figure with gilt pannier holding a liquor barrel and six cordials or cups, all with hand painted white enamel decoration!  These wonderful whimsical liqueur serving sets from mid-1800s France are always a fun decorative and table detail and are rare to find. We've had Blackamoors (few) and a few camels and elephants, actually adding each of those today. This small one for six persons is a charming little camel with a BIG barrel on his back and hooks for 6 wonderfully preserved little shot cups to hang. More a decorative one, as this one's spigot is not working. But the enameled glassware is a delight and sure to catch an eye from your visiting guests. Cute little guy and that reticulated brass base framework is quite unique!

Very good condition for age and type, with all glassware showing no chips or cracks at all. The stopper is is still in the barrel but the cross-bar for the spigot valve has been glued back on and the spigot itself is stuck and will not turn to open or close as far as I can tell.  So, until he gets a little upkeep, he's mostly decorative. With his mouth-blown glassware, enameled and jewel-like, he's just a fun addition to your side table or bar. His pannier 'saddle' appears to have been reset, meaning the original solder broke and it's been re-attached.  His ring and chain still fully intact. Great item!  See pictures for all measurements.
