A true Victorian tea tray, English and entirely hand made c. 1840-60s, a splendid design in the Eastlake aesthetic, wonderful colorful glass beads surrounded by a claret wine red wool needlepoint background. The tray is in lovely form for its age, is large enough to display your entire tea set, or tea pot, sugar and creamer and a pair of favorite cups, saucers. Full measurements noted on our photos.
Very good condition for age and type. The old bun feet are ceramic, with one having been replaced at some point (see images). The beadwork is elegant and complete. I don't count more than 5 beads missing. They're pretty simple to replace, by the way, though not all will choose to do so. There is a little bit of fade to the wool yarn needlepoint and a few spots where the yarn shows a little loss (see images). All in all, particularly for the pattern in the beads and also the gorgeous large wooden frame, it is splendid. You'll probably want to make up a few complimenting beadwork throw pillows.
