Superb antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 19 3/8" wide wall riding crop, hat or coat rack, five hooks with ornate pierced or reticulated foliage decoration and large hunt theme trophy style chamois or mountain goat figural bust with marvelous glass eyes! It seems like it's been a while since we found a fabulous Black Forest wall hook so here you go! Just in from France and as fine as they come, the size is nearly as impressive as the condition it's in. A massive trophy style bust of a curled horn chamois, carved from one solid block of wood and with fantastic, realistic eyes. The rear plaque in the form of pierced or reticulated branches and oak leaves with five hooks across the bottom. Magnificent!
Very good to excellent condition. Possibly a chipped leaf tip or two but, as you can see, there are no larger chips, breaks, damage or repairs to note. See pictures for all measurements.
