RARE Antique French 3 Generation Impressionist Portrait Miniatures, Child, Mom, Grandmother, Well Listed Artist

Purchased in France from a disbursal of an estate, anonymous. There have been several very well-listed artists among that grouping I purchased. This one is particularly superb. A family trio of antique French portrait miniatures painted on thin wafer, backed by mother of pearl for lustre and light through the paint, this is a family of 3 generations, in the old original velvet-covered frame, and each in their own frame as well. Artist's signature: "Pinel de Grandchamp, 1880" is written in pencil on the inner mat backing. Our artist is listed well, you can reference paintings sold through major auction houses internationally: Bonhams, Christies (examples shown). For one small intimate painting sold in 2006, $45,600 realized through Christies (reference included in images) over an estimate of $25,000-$35,000. And an estimate range of $50,000 - $100,000 for a larger canvas and 15,000 - 20,000 euro for another small intimate painting reference through ArtPrice online. I did not have the hammer price on those. Add to these, the buyer's premium, and you see where these are. Such exquisite care and detail, and a stunning result on all three of these precious miniatures. One family, grandmother, child of about 3-4, and mother.  Incredible detail to these small portraits, which is all the more amazing if you realize the faces are each an inch from chin to hairline.  I'm thrilled to have them in my collection, and to offer them to you, our wonderful customers. 

Very good to excellent for age and type. The old original frame is silk velvet covered and has suffering loss of nap in 140 years, loss of the back easel stand (it's probably been hung instead, both hanging loops are intact, still). The center painting of the little girl has a hairline visible from certain angles (we've captured it for your review). Each of the paintings is just stunning in their quality, museum pieces, all. Nothing to report as flaw but that partial fine hairline. The others are pristine. Oval brass frames have original slightly convex and highly polished cover glass, original. I wish we had the family's identity. I'll sleuth a bit more. Perhaps the wife and daughter, granddaughter of the artist? One could hope!  Yes, they could be removed from the original frame, which shows age, but you have the artist's signature within, so please keep together, should you decide to buy the 3. Of course they are not separable, need to be together always and will remain just as they are. Measurements in full can be found on our photos.
