Remainders from a fully fitted out Victorian era sewing box, we have a set of 7 pieces, 6 spools and 1 matching retractable measuring tape, all in ivory and carved mother of pearl. For your own use or to fill out your own antique sewing box or table. I've had them for decades, anticipating finding a perfect chest for them, but probably forgot we owned them and perhaps a few boxes have come and gone without me thinking to marry these to a chest. Typically, one would find sets like this in the old English papier mache or walnut sewing boxes. Perhaps you have just the spot. Full measurements are noted on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. There are no breaks or chips to any of these 7 pieces. They survive beautifully, strong and ready to use. Center posts are brass, original. No looseness on any. The ribbon of the measuring tape seems it might be a replacement, and I have not pulled it out further. Retracts by turning the top, which rewinds ribbon into the case.
