Here we have a gorgeous set of six antique French hallmarked silver & shimmering mother of pearl 7 5/8" entremet, luncheon or dessert sized knife set with inlaid monogram medallions, solid silver blades and all in wonderful condition! The blades bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the curved outer shape and tiny number "2" within those marks means they're in .800 or better silver (80% pure so just under the .925 standard for "sterling" silver) though the seashell accented caps & collars are likely in sterling silver. The slightly lower silver content often used in knife blades for the extra strength and durability it provides. The silversmith marks on all but one are the same "GB" with one "LG". I've not found reference yet but will look though my books to see if I can find them, they likely date to the mid 1800s. A beautiful set!
