Spectacular antique French 1798-1809 hallmarked sterling silver 10" tall ewer, liqueur or claret jug with elegant French Empire style acanthus & ram's head accented handle and ribbed or fluted amphora shaped body!  The hallmarks on this one date it between 1798-1809, though you'd never guess it given it's truly magnificent condition.  A smaller piece, a liqueur service piece for sure and it holds 14 fluid ounces (with a bit of room to the top).  The base bears the French "coq" or cock hallmark, the tiny number "1" within that mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver).  The silversmith mark appears to be "" though I've not found reference to is as of listing.  A truly gorgeous piece, don't miss it!

Excellent condition.  The fluting or ribbed body also serves as reinforcement and there are no dents that I can see anywhere.  Actually quite thick & heavy, the piece was made to withstand the years as evidenced by its museum quality condition.  See pictures for weight and all measurements.
