Beautiful antique French hallmarked sterling silver & cut glass raised serving, dish or compote with ornate rococo style floral accented base & marvelous condition! The base is quite beautiful with a large "CR" monogrammed medallion, floral accents over a textured base and two spiraled sides culminating in rocaille near the base. The glass dish has a 5 7/8" diameter and also has a spiraled form, wheel cut with a scalloped or lobed rim. Perfect for candies on the desk, bonbons or condiments at the dinner table. The base bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within the mark means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks appear to be for Gustave Boyer, Paris circa 1889. A beautiful piece!
Very good-excellent condition. No chips or cracks to the glass dish, some very slight surface scratches are visible near the wheel cut starburst pattern in the center. No dents, damage or repairs that I can see to the silver base. See pictures for all measurements.
