The most charming mid-1700s to as late as 1820 unmarked silver figural needle case in form of a man who holds a letter behind his back. Typically these were made in pairs, male and female, and one can assume the note is a love note. This little guy is just fabulous, no dents or damage to him at all. Sourced from England. Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. No dents at all, fits smoothly and polishes to a bright silver, likely .800/1000 though I find no mark. These were created by the English, French, Dutch, probably other continental creators and were popular collection items these centuries later.
