Elegant & Rare PAIR of antique French hallmarked sterling silver 9 3/4” tall candlesticks with fluted & scalloped style, weighted bases and both in fabulous condition! We’re always looking out for great old French sterling silver pieces, flatware, inkwells, serving dishes and trays but rarely ever do we find candlesticks… This an original matched pair and wonderful in every respect. Nothing overly frilly so easily used in a variety of settings. Each base bears the post-1878 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number “1” within the marks means they’re in .950 silver (95% pure so higher than the .925 standard for “sterling” silver). The silversmith marks are for Tetard Freres, a prominent French maker and circa the earliest 1900s. Gorgeous, don’t miss them!

Very good condition. There are a few faint scratches visible but both have been recently professionally polished to a high luster. The bases are weighted but each piece weighs 23.2 troy ounces or 722 grams. See pictures for all measurements.
