Stunning! From an anonymous Hollywood estate. A ceremonial 18th century Sevres platter, nearly 11" in diameter which is large for the date. A royal crest centers it with Sevres pink broad boarder and elaborate raised gold enamel work throughout. Mark with S might indicate c.1771, but you see that impressed C, which could mean even earlier, c.1755-56. In either case, Louis XV to XVI era, and a splendid museum piece!
Excellent condition throughout, definitely has been a well-treasured platter. There are no chips, no hairlines, no cracks, no restorations, and really I don't even see any loss or touch-up to any of that masterwork painted crest nor the hand applied raised gold enamel work. for
