Just a fun item, really. Found in France, I think it is made to look antique rather than is the old original casting, though looking to the interior, it's certainly appears to have a century or more of use. Look inside that hinged lid. I bought it with a few other things, and it's really an appealing match safe which someone ought to include with a gift of a pipe or a a box of someone's favorite cigars, don't you agree? I'm pricing it as I bought it, just passing it along. Measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good condition with a wonderful bronze patina, though the metal is too light to be bronze, might be tin or zinc, not brass. I think the faux ones are made of brass. Again, no expert. Just passing this one along before he gets lost among the antiques.
