French, somewhere between c.1820-1860, it is perfect and is housed in a locket-type 18k gold and silver pendant, largish for jewelry, with 96 diamonds set into the silver. Just a very precious blue-eyed blond baby, indeed. I will have to have $1895 as a discounted price on this museum piece. If you want it, it’s yours.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. No warp nor loss to the tiny painting, and, while those diamonds are tiny, I do think all 96 are in place. A couple super-tiny ones might be missing, but if so, the rest blinded me from finding it. Outer measurement is 2 1/8” x 1 7/8” plus bale, and the miniature is 1 3/8” x 1 3/16” oval, no damage to report but a little surface abrasion on the 19k gold back.
