Georgian to Victorian pendant. Late 1700s to mid-1800s pendant, French origin and in their own special melding of 18k gold (bezel) and fine sterling silver. The kiln-fired enamel plaque set within and surrounded by Persian turquoise and seed pearls, presents a beautiful young woman after works of the era, French Romanticism. The movement was led visually by Boucher, Fragonard, a few others whose work remains in the Louvre, and after whose images this small work of enamelist art is taken. Would be stunning on a seed pearl torsade, or a gold chain with that little bezel of 18k gold which surrounds the enamel.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Beautifully preserved, it has not lost a single gem nor pearl. The newer sterling silver chain will go with it, though it is not an antique like the Georgian pendant. Full measurements noted on the photos.
