A stunning offering, pristine condition throughout but for the fact someone has tried to force a stuck stopper and has broken it off in the neck of the flask or flacon. This is a tear drop salts or scent bottle capped in .800/1000 French silver (almost sterling) with a thick layering of 18k gold (vermeil), and the bottle is likely made by Baccarat. The perfect condition of the flask, it's cap and the box in which is comes is owing to it having been either very well treasured, or being a gift simply put away for 170 or so years. The set has the gold embossed cachet in silk lined inner lid telling us it was originally sold, mid-1800s, via "Lahoche & Pannier, Escalier of Cristal, 162 & 164, Palais Royal". The boutiques of the old Richelieu Palace, later simply known as "Palais Royal" in Paris, were the finest quality goods, the most expensive and fine offerings to which flocked Royals, Nobles, foreign dignitaries and etc., to socialize and to shop. Goods from Palais Royal carry added value, and higher collectibility still and always. Measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition throughout, with the nod to the 1 flaw: stopper has stuck in neck and someone trying to remove it at some point in its 170 or so years has broken it off. Some remains in the neck, to be either oil-soaked for removal, or drilled out. Since the flask has the original 'salts' still inside, it is best to let it remain in this unused condition for display. It rests perfectly in the original presentation box, etui, and even the exterior of it is in excellent condition, as you can see by the photos. Very fine!
