What a beautiful young girl, dated and id'd c.1836, Id'd Charlotte de Bremoy. This child has the largest soulful eyes. A navy blue shirred dress with huge sleeves, probably her first sort of grown up gown. She looks here to be perhaps 7, don't you agree?
Very good to excellent for age and type. This frame has age, and what would have been a convex cover glass has lost itself at some point and been replaced by a flat glass which has protected the painting beautifully. A couple of my photo were before I lightly dusted the painting, which removed a few tiny specs of dust that had caught the light. There are no spots on the painting - it's very nicely preserved. Noted on back, both ID and date, and the date is also noted on the painting, yet no artist's signature to be found. The frame is 4 1/8" x 3 1/4". Her beautiful face is just 5/8", chin to hairline.
