In the warehouse for decades now, since we had open shops and sold elegant antique Victorian to Edwardian clothing along with other antiques, this is a seamstress form, or perhaps a store mannequin display item. Tailors and seamstresses used forms like this, usually custom made, to create clothing, dresses and shirtwaists, jackets and the like. It's a wooden form with a cotton layer covered tightly in muslin or fabric, some of which is quite worn as you can see. The wooden stand is adjustable and extends from 57" tall to 65" at tallest, and the body can turn on the inner post. It does dismantle so shipping is doable with a lamp box packing box. The measurements of the dress form are noted on the photos. Fabulous for a display piece, or to show off period clothing in your collection. Please note: only the dress form and stand are sold here - the background paintings and objects are not included.

Good to very good condition, there are basically 2 flaws to note: the form stand would have had a turned wood finial, I think, which is no longer with the pole. And second, the wear to the cover fabric, as you can see. These old store or sewing forms are not easy to find, though, and it has old world charm - a fun fixture from some grand Victorian to Edwardian department store, no doubt.
