Fantastic & rare antique Victorian to early Edwardian era silver plated 13" smoker's stand, Black Forest style with two hunting dogs or hounds, stump cigar holder with oak leaf accents and match box Holder! Isn't this one superb! A magnificent decorative accent for all of the hunting dog or cigar enthusiasts out there. A heavy piece, it weighs 5 lbs, 10 oz (2.55kg) and the detail to the dog figures or sculptures rivals any you'll find in the always popular Animalier bronzes. Silver plate and no foundry or maker marks that I can find but simply fantastic, don't miss it!
Very good condition, age and materials considered. As you can see in the images, there is some wear, scuffs and/or light scratches to the silver plating but mostly intact. The one small flaw is what looks like a break to the front of the match box holder (a vertical panel that may have had foliate decoration on it). The match box shown will be included but it's actually a bit smaller than the stand piece, it will fit and display but a slightly larger (and more interesting) antique matchbox would be best.
