Fine iridescent glass powder box, Bohemian Art Nouveau and sold to me as Loetz (Lötz) iridescent glass casket, enameled lid c.1900. There is some likely possibility it is by Loetz's competitor, Rindskopf, so I will give info on both until I can positively confirm. I lean to Rindskopf. Either way, I have never seen a powder box with lid from this era, these competing makers. The jar or box is a fabulous 4 3/4" quatrefoil, 4-lobe form beginning round at bottom, expanding into 4 lobes and then narrowing to a square.
Johann Loetz Witwe (also known as Joh. Loetz Witwe and Joh. Lötz Witwe) was an important art glass manufacturer in Klostermühle, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary. Johann Loetz's works are among the most outstanding examples of Art Nouveau.
Rindskopf glass was produced by a company called Josef Rindskopf’s Sohne AG, (and sons). This glass manufacturer was set up by the sons of Josef Rindskopf after his death in 1890, and was located near the spa town of Teplice in what is now the Czech Republic. There were two factories, one at Dux and the second at Tischau, the latter (Barbarahutte) produced the popular Art Nouveau iridescent glass
Very good to excellent, age and type. This is just a magnificent and perfectly preserved art glass work of Masters. There are no flaws to note. Slight age to the brass lid (we did not polish it, but one could), and no losses to enamel work on top and inner lid - a magnificent work of art. I've shown the marks and numbers on the inner lid.
