A RARE very early one, English Blue Italian, SPODE Launched in 1816 and in production ever since. Blue Italian is now considered an iconic English design. As you can see from our photos, this is a very early production and very large tray at 18 5/8" x 14 5/8", and has seen lots of use, retains the brilliance of its creator and era, pre-Victorian, c.1820s. The platter came from a sophisticated lifelong-curated collection estate out of Ohio, anonymous but the estate was full of important furniture, early and primarily English antiques. Names like CLEWS, Spode's rare early pieces and others, do look through to find a wall full (all sold separately). Full measurements noted on photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, approximately 200 years old at this time. You see the deep impressed A along with early Spode impression. While it has crazing of centuries, this deep well meat or turkey platter has sustained no damage. There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Exceptional appeal. Museum piece, this!
