Huge antique French Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era c.1819-1838 sterling silver 4.5" tall 18oz wine cup, tumbler or "timbale", the largest we've had and possibly a smaller wine cooler piece with engraved "HR" or "JR" monogram and wonderful condition! The size of this one is quite rare, you'd almost expect it to have a detachable handle on the side to be used as a pot of some sort. It bears the 1819-1838 French Michel-Ange or Michelangelo hallmarks, the tiny number "1" within designates it as being it .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Theodor Tonnelier, Paris circa 1798-1820s. Tonnelier a direct rival or competitor to Biennais, the silversmith to Napoleon Bonaparte himself. Rare large size and marvelous condition, don't miss this one.
Very good to excellent condition. I see not notable dents or damage, possibly very faint or light surface scuffs but, given the age, you can't ask for much more! See images for all measurements and weight.
