Ornate antique R. Wallace & Sons American sterling silver 8pc 3.75" oval nut, bonbon or butter pat dish set with sinuous tendril rims that most closely resemble their "Lucerne" pattern and engraved solitary "L" or "S" monograms! Melt value alone is just under $300 on the eight pieces! The silversmith markings are for R. Wallace & Sons of Wallingford Connecticut, circa 1871 to early 1900s. Although the monograms both appear to be the same letter, five are more ornate and three a bit less so. Possibly later additions or replacements for damages or missing pieces from the original owner's set? An elegant addition to your finely appointed dinner table nonetheless!
Very good condition. Some tiny dark/tarnish marks here and there, maybe a tiny dimple or two but, as you can see there are no larger dents, damage or repairs to note. See images for all measurements.
