The raised gold enamel is our favorite and the Belle Epoch (turn of the 19th-20th century) brought us sets that survive today such as this one. I price this type of raised gold enamel decorated plates every time I'm in Paris and they range between 600 euro for simple ones to as high as 5000 euro per plate for the most elaborate. The antique plates are truly a bargain, partly because they're just finer in quality than those made today. Increase in value even while you're enjoying using them, too. About 1890, this firm started using the words Cauldon or Cauldon Ware as part of the mark. Cauldon Ltd. worked from 1905 to 1920.
Very good to excellent set, no chips nor cracks, no hairlines. Very light rubs to the raised gold here or there, not much. Slight evidence of use. I suspect these were used very little, and yet we have just 9 rather than 12 so some of the set has been lost or gone astray through the 100 years since they were created.
