This is a rough set of French Empire sewing tools in the case, each with a flaw but good to fill in a set you may have, or to allow you to own a set for your collection at a greatly reduced price due to the imperfections. It is an authentic c.1820s French mother or pearl and 18k gold trimmed Palais Royal sewing etui, necessaire. Parts missing. Parts flawed.
Condition report: Visually presentable, but each has a flaw: 1. Scissors has a restoration chip on one handle where mother of pearl meets the gold sheath; 2. Needle case is missing its 18k gold enamel medallion on the one side; 3. Stiletto has an almost imperceptible break and solid restoration where mother of pearl meets the gold sheath; 4. Thimble seems excellent, might have small imperfection escaping my eye just now. 5. Case is worn, stained, has a separated hinge, but does have original unbroken mirror inside lid and has original chenille trim. Being sold 'as is'. Full measurements are noted on our photos.
