A fun and unique group of 3 portrait miniatures dating c.1830-50, which I feel quite certain are views of the same beautiful young woman, or certainly 3 triplet sisters. Beautifully preserved in their 3 small frames beneath the polished convex cover glass (all original), they seem to me to have been once mounted in a mat together and a frame, neither of which remains. I think she is a Prussian, or Bohemian girl, and I have some early portraits similarly done and mounted in a silk velvet fronted mat and wood frame. I can easily picture these with those Prussian or Russian portraits. I believe they date early Victorian, the bare shoulders gowns and center parted hair with ringlets, the clue. Full measurements noted on the photos, but note that the faces are only 1/2", chin to hairline on these 3 lively paintings. I find no signature, but have not opened any of them up at all. Found in Germany.
Very good to excellent condition on all 3, with single flaw showing on the 1 painting which has tiny flaking paint across face. Nicely framed, no damage to frames or cover glass and no hairlines or cracks to the wafer upon which the artist has worked his or her magic. Stamps on back, all original as shown. You are buying the group of 3 paintings of this same young woman.
