I found these 2 sisters' portrait miniatures decades ago in France. Beautiful young women, both, their fashion puts them to late 1700s to early 1800s, yet I wonder if the frames have been newer - mid-1800s. Sometimes family plantings are mounted in a single large frame and later sold and separated, framed again. My best judgement on the 2 young women would be that this has happened and that they are c.1790-1800. One painting tints to blue and the other tints slightly to yellow. Features definitely show the family resemblance. I see no signature. I did not open the frames. All photos are taken through the individual cover glass.
Very good to excellent, no damage to paintings, no hairlines. The girl with white lace bonnet shows a little warp to the wafer, if viewed from bottom. The frames are, I believe, created much later than the paintings - possibly mid-1800s. High gold finish, perhaps they are gold plated. Small nail/pins pushed in from sides hold the paintings and backing in place. I did not remove, so do not know if ID or an artist's signature can be found within. I always have a hard time reinserting those pins. Full measurements noted on the photos. You are purchasing both of the sisters' paintings together, just as I did.
