Elegant antique French Napoleon III era COMPLETE matching 5pc sterling silver meat & salad serving utensil or implement set including a 'truelle a' poisson' for fish, all with unique Aesthetic Movement style pattern in the shaped handles AND all beautifully kept in a fitted storage and/or presentation box! A wonderful set, complete and all pieces with matching pattern. The set includes meat carving knife & fork, salad serving fork & spoon (with early celluloid bowl & tines), the unique addition of the pelle or truelle a' poisson for serving fish and the original fitted storage and/or presentation case or box! Hallmarked sterling silver handles bearing the French Minerve or Minerva on each, the tiny number "1" mark within designates them as being .950 silver content (95% pure, higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith marks are for Eugene Lefevre & Jules Jamain, Paris circa 1854-1857. Original steel tines & blade on the meat serving pieces, sterling handle and blade on the 'truelle'. All original and all in wonderful shape, gorgeous!

Very good condition. A slight dimple possible to the silver handles, somewhat more on the top side of the handle on the salad spoon. Some tarnish and/or age corrosion to the steel (pre-stainless steel) on the meat knife and fork. There is also a bit of visible crease or bend marks on the end of the fish serving piece. The box is original, all pieces fit and the box itself is in great shape though it is missing the left side clasp. Paper stamps on the lid and bottom of the box, script on the top and the one on the bottom reads "Gacon-Duchesne, Orfevre Bijoutier Horloger, Chalon - S - Saone". See pictures for all weights and measurements.
