I don't currently have any of the fine 18k gold pocket watches, small and jewel-like, kiln-fired enamel and made for a lady, but if I did, I'd be showing it off inside the recess of this stunning old octagon watch case. The 2nd opening is for the long watch chain, and it has a cream silk bottom liner to match the inner lid. The purple silk velvet interior is in very nice form, and I can guarantee you, this elegant chocolate and cognac tortoise shell veneered case will be right where you're going to display your best of best gold pocket watch and chain. Isn't it just stunning!
Very good to excellent for age and type, all the veneer in place and no chips nor bug bites, no losses. The interior is also very nice for age, and is entirely original to this case. One would expect to see a Faberge timepiece inside. I've kept this one for decades, just to photograph with those kind of pocket watches we've had and sold over time. Time to let it go.
