A beautiful hand painted bamboo fan, very nice condition overall with paper leaf inset with an interesting and unusual panel of lace. This old beauty seems to bring consensus as a Japanese import bamboo fan that has been decorated in a European manner or actually in Europe. Measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition with just a nod to the section which is folded a little awkwardly. it is not torn, and just folds not quite perfectly in a small section of where the lace inset is. The palette used is just truly stunning on this one, and the sticks are hand painted to compliment the paper painted leaf. One guard is painted, the other is not. No breaks to any of the bamboo.
