Beautifully preserved, a big garnet cabochon rising from the 16k mount and with what appears to be a 'never used' locket back for a plaiting or lock of hair. This one is simple to pry open to place your own memento. Full measurements noted on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, as noted in our photos, ready to become your own memento locket brooch. Looks like all I can report here is that I didn't do a very good job cleaning this one in recesses. Cover glass on back side has no flaws. I've worn this one clasped over pearls as an enhancer and it's stunning that way, or with a heavy gold chain. Even if a brooch isn't very fashionable, there are other ways to wear it. Beautiful on lapel of a tailored velvet jacket, particularly if grouped with other similar antique brooches from your collection.
