Found in France. Extra large, made to make up into a European pillow top, the wool yarn stitching beautifully crafted one stitch at a time, needlepoint. I've put a measuring tape across it so you can see the stitches are larger than typical needlepoint and are both beautifully done and perfectly preserved. The linen canvas has never been worked up, even though it dates more than 100 years old. The worked needlepoint is 29" x 30", and give plenty of outer canvas to work with in making a stunning large needlework pillow top. I see it with a heavy silk back, or perhaps silk velvet back, and with lush French passementerie fringe. A simple project. The colors are fabulous on this one. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, unused and very well-crafted, the needlepoint has no flaws, the wool yarns show no damage and no fading. It's rare to find these that have not been used. You'll be thrilled with the large European pillow you'll make of it. It could certainly be cut in center and made up into 2 pillow tops, as well. Easy project! Will be send rolled and in long tube.
