This is a very interesting pair of very large framed wood panels, both oil painted in a garland of flowers and fruit, and also with wildlife scenes in woodturning both top and bottom of the panels. They are nicely framed, c. 26, October, 1909, dedicated and signed by the artist on back, and just have the feel of a chalet. I bought them in France, but I am unsure of the origin - French or Swiss, for sure (see dedication on back). I think they feel very Swiss and would be wonderful for a home that also has an eye to Black Forest carvings. Perhaps a cabin, lodge or country home. Look them over closely. Definitely unique. I feel like they could also work in a little French cafe, don't you? Geese along the top along with a scene including an elk or large stag are wood burned. Lower ornament is pen work, and the florals are oil painted, and are so very charming throughout.

Very good to excellent condition throughout, even the old frames present very well for age and type. The artwork seems so personal, and if you look on back you'll see that it is dedicated to a young couple (marriage) "Jeanne and Alfred". Artist dated and signed with initials I think are ACL, intertwined. Each panel in frame is 42" tall, 16" wide and a bit over .5" in depth.
